Getting Started With LABER:

Welcome to LABER! We're thrilled to have you onboard the easy-to-use tool to help you find work, or stay aware of relevant work opportunities in your area. Let's quickly run through using LABER's workforce app to get opportunities:

1) Creating your LABER profile

  • Your profile details are important, so take your time and be sure to accurately input your credentials! These details allow LABER to accurately connect you with relevant opportunities or have employers reach out to you directly.
    • About:  This section enables you to openly share more detailed information with a potential employer such as your work ethic, previous work experience, previous employers, career aspirations, etc.
    • Trade & Skills: This section clearly displays your trade and skills. There are a few general rules to selecting trade & skills, which is described more in depth HERE.
      • NOTE: If you do not find relevant skills in the list for your trade, please email team@laberapp.com so we can add them to the list.
    • Certifications: This section displays your certifications and/or licenses.
    • Photos: Upload photos of your work and tag the photo with your selected skills to impress potential employers!
      • NOTE: Make sure to fully complete your profile! Incomplete profile information will limit the amount of job opportunities you receive.

2) Receiving Job Opportunities

  • When an employer creates a job opportunity...
    • LABER's technology matches you to the opportunity based on your title, trade, skills, location preferences and/or certifications.
    • You'll receive the opportunity directly to your phone if you match major criteria.

 3) Accepting Opportunities and Viewing Opportunity Status

  • If you'd like to be considered for the opportunity, simply tap Send Your Profile to let the employer know you are open to that job.
  • The Accepted job will be moved into the Accepted tab in Job Opportunities, where you can view and track the status of your application.
  • Once an employer has reviewed your profile and decides to reach out, your job status will display a green check by Profile Accepted.

4) Employer Messaging

  • All messages from company / contractor employers will appear in the Messages navigation tab at the top the app.
    • NOTE: Though not typical practice, you also have the option to message the employer first once your profile is accepted.
  • Messaging on the LABER platform typically revolves around employers getting a better feel for your background and experience, and potentially requesting to interview over the phone or in-person.

5) Employer & Personal Ratings

  • After you've interacted with the employer, LABER encourages you to Rate your experience with that employer in the ratings section on your dashboard.
  • Ratings are meant to continually promote positive experiences with great companies and contractors.
  • You can see negatively rated employers in the future so you can steer clear of them!
  • Similarly, Employers can rate you, and Your Laber Rating is visible to other companies and contractors.
